I just joined this community and would like to introduce myself despite the fact that this community seems very much dead.

My name is Lykaios, I'm twenty years old, I'm a female, I'm bisexual, I'm a therianthrope, I'm a psi vampire, and of course...I'm a Pagan. I've been practicing/studying for about 7 years now. I'm looking to join a community or two based on Paganism of some sort, plus I enjoy reading others entries on the subject. I'm also looking for friends who share this interest with me. I've found it hard to find Pagan or Wiccan friends.

So I'm getting married in August.
To a Catholic.
Yup.

It is an interesting experience, trying to decide how and if to express one's spirituality in an life-cycle event like a marriage, especially an inter-faith marriage. It raises a lot of personal questions.

But enough about me.

Have any of you witnessed a pagan/wiccan/shamanic wedding?

What about other life-cycle rites (coming-of-age, child-birth, funeral, etc.)

What do you think about the "traditional" trappings of, say, Wiccan weddings - handfasting, broom-jumping, etc. What other life-cycle ritual traditions can you think of?

Have you given any thoughts to what you might like to do, should you ever want to "tie-the-knot"?

I'm very curious to hear stories or even just philosophical ramblings on this topic - as a solitary witch, this is one of those areas where being well-read doesn't really enlighten me. I haven't had the experience of attending any special events.

Have you?

i figured i would talk about one of the easier magics to get well versed in, astrology. it's all green to me.

where did it go? the power... witches once held?
some of it lost in fruitless astral battles, pissing powers away. there is a deeperelement that some who understand esoteric astrology are aware of. but few are aware of estoteric astrology -- ancient rulerships and the precession of equinoxes creating a solar view and a system of prognostication VASTLY different from the day to day world of sydney omarr and others

STONEHENGE was a clock. a moondial. it was like the myanm calendar. base thirteen.

how did they get those rocks there? levitation perhas, a long time ago. latent psychism -- minor surface throughtelepathy is th beginning of what is eventually psychokinesis and real energy healing.
how they must have fretted not understanding the earth's tilt! the moon clock every daygetting more and more incorect, every year more and more off of what once made sense. there was little accounting for it --

but what it comes down to i have yet to figure out.

who are those who fear the truth of the stars? those who seek to profit from the ignorance ofthe majority to pass themselves off as great magickians when realy they are dabblers. they become transparent to a gemini type like myself -- as i can just basically se right through them -- they are practically shouting thatthey are liars and the truth offends them. i mean really...like they have glass heads.

in ad 1 if you were born on june thirtieth you sun sign would be cancer. niot so by ad 1700, this is because of the earth's tilt.

some esotericians believe that "cosmic calamities"
created mad planet effects -- that mercuryis called a thief becaue he came from a far away star syustem , a wandering star - and disrupte dthe whole solar system -- destroying the planet that was once between mars and jupiter orbit - destroying thrioving culture of antiquity on venus and mars and that old planet that is now an asteroid belt rather famous. who's tosay? there are varying histories, lostlike lemuria...and atlantis. but for whatever reason the earth has a twenty-three (23.5, give or take...illuminating, huh?) tilt to its axis. esotericians understand this but dabbler s in star magic are usually not ready. in fact a lot of well known astrolgers with degrees and certificates are stymied by sidereal -- or dead reckoning of actual star positions as opposed to keeping to what the skies would be like were there no axial tilt.

it's major but the point is -- witches over centureis lost more and more power gained more and more spiritual amnesia. and this is connected to understanding that coems when we know exactly what planets are doing when we are born.

great bad confusion ensues and people becoem protective of their wrong ness...it strangles creativity and shortens lifespans. finding truth can really help you decipehr and understand fakes -- and also find youthful beginners who simply don't know yet and would be accurate knew they teh Way.

but it comes down to this...days...shift.

so christmas
is a great example as it is on this almost arbitrary day that was meant to be a dilution of saturnalia...a different fest as we know.

over the years the day that the planets would have aligned to make that day a power day...shifted. halloween is what itis becaue the veil is thinner. it's meantto be scorpio's day -- death and regeneration, sexuality - wedon't need to get cheezy -- it's scorpio and she has seen it all.but go by an old star chart -- like what you read in ninety percent of daily horoscopes...

I'm really interested but I don't have much time to research on my own because of school. Thanks in advance!

-Karole

It's the shits being old and senile.)

By which, I mean, what the hell religion are you guys? Are you British Traditional Wiccan? Druid? Hellenic Recon? Squishy Neo-Wiccan? Eclectic Pagan? What?

How do you define your religion?

Or do you not have one at all? Are you strictly in it for the magic?

Go on. Tell us about YOUR path. Hell, while you're at it, why don't you tell us what's involved in your path? I'm a solitary dedicant, and I love it. I'm going to be getting internet at my house again in a few weeks, so my journal and posts in here may also be silent for a little while- but not for long!
Hmm... a very wierd thing happened today and I was wondering if I could find some oppinions on the matter.

I bought a tarot deck online and have been waiting as patiently (yeah right!) as I can for it to come it. It came in today around 10am and I was sooo happy! Its the Sacred Circle Tarot Deck and book. Anyways, if you have it, you know it comes with a little cardboard box with celtic borders on it for.. I dont know, temporary storage? I looked at the cards and then put them away once I had to go to school, I placed the cards and the book on my bed.

I have a cat. Her name is Anya. She is a beautiful long haired, green eyed black cat. She's still a little young and I respect her greatly. I do spoil her though and she's grown quite a voice on her. I've been sick for a few weeks now, and I forgot to clean her cat box. (For about 1 week)

When I came home today she had wiped her dirty but on my bed and yes.. the box that held my new cards! And the book too!!!! I was soooooo mad. I knew a cat that would go to the bathroom on my bed if she was in a fowl temper but Anya NEVER does this. This is the first time since I bought her that she's done this. Normaly she just meows and lets me know what the problem is..

My question is... do you think that she senses something bad about the deck and book or do you think she was just in a bad mood and perhaps knew this was the best way to get my attention.

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as I am new to this community.

My name is Lorna, I am an 18 year old libra/female/sister/aunt/lover/daughter/child/soul/etc. I currently live in Colorado. Near Manitu (lucky me! If you havent heard of it, it's a a -great- 'witch town' located right at the foot of the mountains)

My intrests include runes, balance, paganism, faeries, spiritualit (in general), yoga, meditation, astral travel, and alot more.

I am a dificult time in my life, becomeing an adult.. havent quit taken the big step yet (moving out) but Im definatly preparing for it. Im in a funk spiritually because I was raised Christian, but denounced it once I was about 13. Around that time I focused all of my thoughts on Wicca and Paganism and I've been studying since then. But I've never had disciplin and I left my former religion because I couldn't 'feel' 'god'.. and I'm still having that same problem. I'm getting desperate now because life is getting extremly hard for me and I don't know if I can make it if I dont think their is someone there... someone who knows me and someone I can find strength, comfort, and courage in.

Anyways.. that was a lot longer than I should have probably posted. I hope to make new friends here.

Love and Light,
Lorna

Does it irritate anyone else when businesses use religion to market their wares? I know I posted something like this earlier, but...it seems kind of disrespectful to use something as personal as a person's belief system to advertize loans, or singles ads, or whatever. I think I'd be just as disgusted and irritated if I started getting junk mail telling me to "Consolidate debt the Pagan Way" or "Meet Pagan singles here!", as I am with the "Consolidate debt the Christian way" and "Meet Jewish Singles here!" (Only got the Jewish one once...it is almost always Christian ones...)

Just seems extremely disrespectful and stupid to me. Anyone else?
